The Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ) National Business Events Program (NBEP) provides funding to support the recovery of the Queensland Business Events sector by attracting national conferences, conventions, exhibitions and corporate events, with a view to drive economic activity and increase visitation to the State.
Who can apply?
Applicants may apply for funding between $17,500 and $95,000 (excluding GST) based on $50 per in-person delegation attending a two-day Event, or $100 per in-person delegate attending an Event with a minimum duration of three days.
Business Events Acquisition and Leveraging Fund (ALF)

Brisbane Economic Development Agency (EDA) is offering financial support to eligible business events that choose Brisbane for their 2021 or 2022 event. For a limited time, cash support of $50 per in-person delegate is available to help reduce event costs and upgrade your conference program. Funding is limited to an allocated budget and applications will be assessed in the order in which they apply, until the funds have been expended. CAIRNS & GREAT BARRIER REEF
Business Events Cairns & Great Barrier Reef also offer funding for eligible events with a minimum of 300 delegates. Funding is assessed on a case by case basis with priority given to events held during the shoulder season of October – May. Funding is awarded based on the number of delegates attending the conference in person with an average amount of $50 per delegate.
From 6 April 2021, $5.5 million in funding will be made available to support business events, conferences and conventions across Greater Sydney and NSW, as part of a major COVID-19 response package designed to encourage people back into the Sydney CBD in particular, and support jobs in the accommodation, entertainment, and tourism and business event sectors.
NSW Grant – Small Business Registered in NSW - $1500
Small Business and not-for-profit organisations in SNW can now apply for a rebate of up to $1500 to assist with the recovery of COVID – 19.
The rebate can be used to offset the costs of NSW state and local government fees and charges incurred after March 1, 2021 including fees from food authority licences, liquor licences, tradesperson licences, event fees, outdoor seating fees and council rates.
To be eligible for this rebate, small businesses (including non-employing sole traders) and not-for-profit organisations must:
- have total Australian wages below the NSW Government 2020-2021 payroll tax threshold of $1.2 million
- have an Australian Business Number (ABN) registered in NSW and/or have business premises physically located and operating in NSW
- be registered for goods and services tax (GST)
- provide a declaration that the business has a turnover of at least $75,000 per year.
Note: Only one $1500 rebate is available for each ABN. Not-for-profit organisations are not subject to the GST requirement but must demonstrate a turnover of more than $75,000 per year.
When applying business can make a claim for specific fee already paid. These can be multiple claims btu once the $1500 has been received, no further claims will be accepted. When making claims, invoices and receipts need to be supplied showing that they have already been paid to the state government and local council fees.

The Northern Territory Business Events Support Fund (NTBESF) aims to assist the Territory business events sector by providing funding assistance to organisers of qualified corporate meetings, conferences, conventions, exhibitions and incentives.
Who can apply?
Business events planners or organisations considering the Northern Territory as the destination in which to stage their business event may apply for financial assistance of AUD$100 per delegate.
Business Events Perth (BE Perth) offers targeted funding support to business event organisers considering Western Australia as the destination for their next business event.
Support for eligible State-based business events is assessed on a case-by-case basis.
