Your Guide to Not-for-Profit Governance

Express 2-Hour Governance Board Education Course

Due to the ever-changing complexity of the legal framework in the Not-for-Profit (NFP) sector, it is necessary for officers, directors and those who interact with Boards to stay relevant and up-to-date with current regulations.

To help facilitate this, The Association Specialists collaborated with the Governance Institute of Australia to create a tailored course to meet the needs of our clients.

Supported by a suite of resources, the aim of the course is to strengthen the knowledge and capabilities of those who are associated or on a Board. It will discuss the role and responsibilities of NFP Boards and examine the common law, equity and statutory duties of officers and directors of NFP organisations.

This express guide is a condensed version of the ‘The Certificate in Governance for Not-for-Profits’ course detailed below, which is designed and taught by experts with the aim of educating participants in the intricate area of governance for NFPs.

The benefits of the programme include:

Understanding the role of the governance framework in defining duties and responsibilities of officers, directors and the board of NFP organisations

Examination of the common law, equity and statutory duties that apply to officers and directors of NFP organisations

Review of the role and responsibilities of the Board and recognise the different structures and composition of Boards of NFP organisations

Access to complete study notes from the full-length course ‘Not-for-Profit Officers, Directors and the Board’

Delivered in just two hours, this express course has been structured to easily integrate with pre-existing Board meetings and to save members valuable time and resources. The course will cover up to 10 participants at the rate of $4,200 (+GST) and is exclusive to clients of the Association Specialists.
